Spring, at last

Imagine this.

An entire week of depressing gloomy weather, with my attitude to match. I blamed the weather and my thyroid, which are both equally good excuses. Finally, after a particularly rough day, I told my husband that once our crazy monkeys were put to bed for the night, I was outta here. By myself.

He didn't argue. Perhaps he was glad to be rid of me for awhile?

But you know... the most amazing thing happened.

The clouds parted.

And the light? Like honey.

Pure sweet thick dripping golden honey.

the sun came out

The deep hum of spring-time life vibrates it's way into my soul. Even half-way through May, it's still a shocking change from our long stark quiet winter.

Somehow, Spring has arrived.

Out here, even if I attempt to, I never go off exploring alone.

God's creatures find me.

And the truth is, I kind of prefer it that way.

it was definetly worth a seperate link. I like the fact that when you go out by yourself it's outside, close to home and with your animals. It's so much more simple that my ideas. I always feel like I have to have starbucks cup in my hand in order to relax. Turns out, all I have to do is walk outside. Learning from you friend. (the pics are great too)

And that is exactly why your blogging is breathtaking. Words, HONEY LIGHT, humor, and to top it off your humility.

PS. I have a Canon Rebel EOS film camera that I'm going to play with this weekend. (shh, don't tell my nikon) ;)

I'm so glad the clouds parted for you and spring showed up. And I totally agree; even though it is May, there is something shockingly different about how the weather feels and looks lately. It is so refreshing.

L.O.V.E. the water picture. So soft...I can smell it, I can hear it, I can feel it!

And the cat one!?! So great. I'm wondering about shutter speed and ISO on that one, too. No blur on the moving cat, face in amazingly sharp focus, bokeh on the tail, and those beautiful bokeh circles (or whatever they are called) on the trees. It just kills me it's so good.

SUCH beautiful amazing light! Love, love the first two shots- they should be on big canvases on a wall somewhere!
You're trees are a lot further along in the growing-of-leaves process than ours are! Ours are just hitting that green haze stage.
