Wait a minute. That's totally not right.
How...

Oh dear. Do you hear my husband laughing?
I should have made him jump with me.
And...

Lord have mercy.
I nearly hurt myself that time.

Yes! YES!
I gotta tell ya. How great it feels to be posting back here again!

Those are really good. My hubby would have laughed at me too!
How fun are these?!?!?!
Holy CoW! These pictures are so flippin' awesome. Welcome back : )
Hehehehehehe....That one in particular looks like a jump I tried when I was attempting to be a cheerleader. I love it! Never did make the squad, but now I'm tempted to try out the jump again in the backyard. It's good to have you back :)
Those are awesome! How funny. :D
You seriously caught some air there!
Hahaha! You're so creative.....and always put so much of yourself into all your photos! It's great. And these photos make me feel a bit exhausted as I imagine all that jumping!
Okay....now....at least to my eye, you're in tack sharp focus in each one of these. How, how, how????!!!? I mean, it's apparently not your smallest aperture because there's that really nice subtle bokeh on the trees. And since only your left hand seems to be completely open in all these, I'm assuming you're holding the remote timer thing in your right hand, because I simply cannot immagine setting the timer on the camera and running for something like this. Plus it's dark out and there's no blur; I'm trying to wrap my mind around what your shutter speed and ISO were.....and I know you wouldn't have cheated in post-processing too much....
Love it....
I'm just in awe - I've been really struggling with getting this shot and I feel inspired. I love that you went with a silhouette!
what in the world? How? How? how did you get all the stars to align for these uber awesome shots AND AND it looks like you had a blast doing it!!?? How? ISOs and focusing and timing oh my!!
This link up you are in should totally give you a gold star for effort and creativity :)
good luck "unpacking". I'm happy to have you here, there anywhere as long as you're somewhere bloggy!
these are really really cool!
Awesome, a jump and silhouette shot all in one. Soooo I'm also intrigued what are your magic numbers on this shot!?! I got the shutter speed for getting rid of foot blur, but in this light?
You guys crack me up (and thanks). I can't jump high, it's all perspective. Metered for a bright area of the sky which means I could use a low ISO. ISO was important since I wanted most of the image underexposed and that would tend to be noisy. A sufficiently fast ss to prevent motion blur, and a rather wide aperture to make up the difference. At that distance from the camera, the dof is safely wide enough to flail around.
Your welcome. :)
Oh, I also meant to say,
50mm on a full frame Canon: ISO 100 f/1.8 1/2500
Thanks for sharing your secrets with us! I rarely come back to check other comments, but I had to on this one!
Everything makes sense to me but the aperture......as you can tell by my crazy comment above, I wouldn't have guessed that.....that nice sharp focus on your silhouette is just unbelievable.
These shots are pure joy. LOVED them!
how FUN! love these!
and i've missed you - i came over to tell you i can't wait to see how your garden tunnel grows, and here are all these fun posts! hope your old/new home treats you better than your new/old one (did that make any sense???). :)
I'm always amazed at your selfies! Fantastic job!
Welcome back here!! Awesome, amazing pictures. :-)
That is it I need the 50mm lens now. I was hoping to get it for mothers day but new furniture is more important (dang) ... HEY I LOOOOOVE the 2nd to the last shot. It is muy innocent & care free. :)))
PS. I wish I knew the feeling. heh...But I feel some change brewing. :)) And you know what I mean.
The silhouette is awesome- your body looks so long and lean adn there's this....feeling in the shot...feeling of freedom and happiness!
Awesome. Great silhouette! Wonderful execution there. hilarious entry.
My husband tried to watch me take my jumping pictures through the window as he worked. I flipped him off, ran inside and closed his blinds.
I hate it when people watch me work (on anything), but especially when I'm doing silly stuff by myself with the camera. :) :)
You have the BEST selfies!! :D
Beautiful, gorgeous pictures, Jess! I totally wanted to climb in and be jumping with you!!
Though, I'm a little confused by the story you're (only sorta) telling about privacy and back-n-forth blog-hosting jumps, but that's ok. That sory is probably on a "need-to-know-only" basis. lol
Regardless, great pics, great post and...I'm glad you're happy.
:-)
Gosh, girl! These are all awesome but I just LOVE the last one!
