Fail.

But the sun was shining, and we have hope that things might dry enough to start planting later this week.
We weeded the asparagus bed.

It's barely a year old. We won't harvest any until next year.
We found the garlic looking very handsome.
Success!

I'm thrilled about this because they were given to me by a fellow gardening fanatic (which makes them immensely more exciting), and I planted them way way too late last fall.
Since our gardening took all of twenty minutes, and most of that was spent stomping through mud, we decided to go exploring. Snails, mosquito larvae, and tadpoles... Oh my!

Look at your asparagus!!! :D That's so cool. I tried to grow it once... and it was a fail.
And YAY for sunshine! :D Has spring finally arrived for you? ;)
That sounds like an awesome garden date with son! Beautiful asparagus photos. One day I'll get around to planting some.
I love a garden project that only takes 20 minutes and, even better, ends with catching tadpoles. Fun!
i wish i could go exploring like that, it sounds so fun :)
sounds like your date was a success, even if you didn't find any dry ground. we have some friends around here who were bemoaning their swamp conditions yesterday as well.
hope the sun stays out and dries up that garden so you can start digging soon. :)
ooo, wish we had asparagus! love your photos too!
Yea, garlic!
I believe in gardens, but asparagus (blech) no offense but I would rather eat toe nail clippings.
he he... But the PICTURE of the asparagus garden is fun.
I can't wait until I can plant. 2 more weeks my friend and we will be 100% moved in! YES!!!

We hope to have a gorgeous garden this year, too.Crossing my fingers...
Oh I need an asparagus bed! I totally feel your pain about the wet mucky garden, even my raised beds are sloppy wet.
Your photos are awesome! Have fun chasing tadpoles...and dry weather! Kim
How do you have the resistance to not pick that asparagus?!?!?! That would kill me!
And garlic! Hahaha! I'm laughing at myself because I must be dense! It's supposed to be planted in the fall!?!?! The last 2 times I tried to plant it, I planted it in the spring (not knowing better), only one of those times it came up and then almost instantly shriveled and died. I'm quite jealous!
And you are such a great mom and have so much to offer your kids. I love this.
Your asparagus bed looks fantastic! It makes me wish I had made ours bigger...
I've been planning on planting asparagus for two years now. This year I will get the bed prepared, so next year I can plant, I guess that's better than nothing.
Baby steps.
