In the blink of an eye, somehow, the green and gold...
gave way to blue and white.
This shade of blue plays tag with the kind of cold that feels like winter.
And the white isn't just white, it sparkles.
It happens every year, but still, every year it takes me by surprise.

Wow. Great shots, but that last one is the absolute coolest picture I have seen in a while. I LOVE the DOF in it and how there's not just focus at the center of the shot, but also over at the side. I'd love a larger version to gawk at. I just want to see how crisp those ice crystals really are!
On another note... did you kill some of your own poultry for the holiday or just buy a bird?

Thanks guys. The first two are from back in September, taken with the Rebel. For the frost/snow pics, the light was absolutely perfect to capture that sparkle. Also, although the 5D kicks serious butt, I'm certain I could have gotten these shots with my Rebel (if it had been in the mood to behave properly).

These are just beautiful! I LOVE snow and ice when I'm seeing it like this. I'm not so fond of it when it's in my yard! :-) The light is just perfect for your snow photos and you've captured it beautifully!
As cold as all that looks, the sparkles make up for it... so pretty! I can't wait to get some white snow/frost pics, all this dead browness is getting a little old.

Oh how gorgeous! I love the fence shot! I sometimes forget what a pretty thing snow and ice can be. I tend to remember the cold nose, fingers and toes, and lots of shoveling. Congrats on the 5D!
