Making fish

I finally found out what our six year old wants for Christmas. What he really, really wants.

Just to put this in perspective, for his birthday last year he wanted plumbing. Pipes, couplings, hoses, and a pump... it was all he wanted. And believe me, his joy was complete.

I tell no lie.

For Christmas, he wants fish. Specifically, six inches long, with a one inch tail.

I love that kid so much.

Thankfully, I keep a shoebox stashed full of fish-making supplies. Living way out here on the frozen tundra, it would be nothing short of foolish not to.

That kid deserves to have fish.

I wonder if I should have measured them?

Um, does he mean a toy fish? Or a real fish? Hmmm..... But I have to say, I love your take on it! Momma rocks! Can't wait to see it when it's done.
(Interesting kid you have. If only I had one so easy to please. Plumbing?!? Ha ha ha!) :D

I have a 6yo who was crazy about plumbing a year or two ago - he spent the whole summer dragging lengths of pipe around the yard that we had laying around in our shed. Now we are on to road signs. Can't wait to see more pictures of your fish - looks like fun! :)

p.s. I happened to catch your post last week(?) about going professional - you are SO worth more than a free session and $20 of prints. He obviously doesn't appreciate photography and the memories it captures. Wishing you all the best as you consider taking the plunge - if I lived closer (as in, not halfway across the country), I would want to be one of your first customers! You definitely have a gift. :)

My son used to love tape, sticks, and paper towels. We had all sorts of wonderful creations!

Merry Christmas to you all!!

You know what? My mom is giving me fish for Christmas. :D I'm totally serious. I've been bugging her for years, and she's finally caved.

Five little fishes are coming home soon... just have to get my tank ready. ;)

It's so obvious how much you give of yourself to bless your family. I'm so touched by this....I'm not sure how to put words to why. I feel compelled to say that you are his momma for a reason.
