Then she sat me down and made me watch the movie Chicken Run. Believe it or not, despite it being released ten years ago, I had never seen it.

Who doesn't love a rubber chicken?
The kids wouldn't stop fighting over the dumb thing on the ride home, so I squished it up above the rear view mirror of our car. After all, it is my chicken. His legs and head bobble up and down as we're driving... once he's thawed out. It's kind of a nice gauge of the temperature in the car. Once upon a time, (probably around the time Chicken Run came out) I had a ketchup packet in my car all winter. I would attempt to squish it once in awhile just to confirm my suspicion that it was, indeed, freakishly cold out.
Anyway, if you've ever seen the movie... you know what I mean when I say my chickens are not organized. They really can't fly either. Too bottom heavy or something. Lucky for mine, they have free run of the place and I don't keep track of who is or isn't laying eggs.

Nice... um... chicken. ;) Great bokeh too. What a gift!
You gotta love those gifts that are personal like that. There's just got to be a story there, right? :-)
There is something really funny about imagining your kids fighting over the rubber chicken. Love it.
If you can draw all that out of a rubber chicken, you are one creative chick. ;)
Bwahaha, what a great gift!! I think I like your mom already.
I love "Chicken Run," it is one of my favorites. The facial expressions on the chickens crack me up every time.
Didn't your mother get you something... umm... "different" last year too? She's one pretty awesome mom, I think. So did you like Chicken run? Poultry in Motion, I say. :)
I love your photos; you can make anything beautiful!
lol
Ha! :D
I didn't see Chicken Run when it came out either.. but I did watch it a year ago or so. Made me laugh. :)
Hi Jess! It was great to get caught up on your blog... don't laugh, but I've never even HEARD of Chicken Run - LOL! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! It's been great getting to e-know you this year, and have a fantastic 2011! :-)
When I first saw this shot I thought it was going to be just like the mouse-icle. I was begining to wonder about how many icle animals you have on your lovely farm. I was pleased to further read on and find out that the said chicken was indeed not dead but rubber.
Wipes forehead in relief.
Fun shot!
Happy New Year chica! It has been oh so VERY delightful getting to know you this year.
