This road, one that has caused the locals to grab their pitchforks, light their torches, and gather in angry masses, does have some yellow. Some. I searched long and hard to find a stretch of yellow that extended this far.
To be completely honest, there were other stretches of yellow paint, but I would have been more likely to be flattened. Some of you know the luck I tend to have. Like having eggs smash in my pocket, or getting human brain DNA all over my face (which might, actually, explain a lot of things), or having to walk over areas of washed out road (yes, that one) on planks when I'm in labor.
Right.
It's always nice to have a road there when you need it.
What was the theme this week? Distracting skies?
Oh, sorry.
Yellow.
If you read my Mother's Day post, then you know that I've been holding out on you.
Yes, we have babies.
Four of them, two of which just happen to be yellow.
I will get better shots of the chicks than this one.
It's the best I could do shooting through chicken wire, in a dark coop, while tipping a cardboard lid up with my foot, leaning over and wielding a three pound lens

You Capture - "Yellow"
Next week's assignment is a technical one, shallow depth of field. My absolute favorite! YAY! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

I knew you'd have sweet chicks!
I love the shots of the road, especially the super, up close detailed shot.
My favorite picture is the one with the amazing sky in it though. Wow!
You did it... you stood on the yellow line and took a pic. No fear! Love all of the shots.
um... white balance, white balance, white balance! Sorry, I'm rebellious and couldn't help myself. ;D
The cracked paint is a fantastic capture. FANTASTIC!
I love your yellow striped road. Well, I am almost postive I wouldn't love driving it but I do love looking at the pictures. So pretty! : )
I just love that first picture!
Have I told you lately, YOUR AWESOME!
I love love love that first capture.
I was really hoping somebody would get some great road stripe pictures in this week - and you definitely delivered!
I didn't even think to put up the long yellow line pictures. Great photos.
As always, I LOVE your photos!!
Jess..thank you so much for stopping over and for your kind words about my daughter's watercolor. Wow!!

Colleen, you know I wasn't standing on that road! Look at the perspective. My camera was about a foot off the ground. (sure hope my mom doesn't read this)
I LOVE the first road pic. But then, the road has called to me for a long time. It's always had a voice, now it has a very distinct image. And the baby chicks. (-:
The yellow line pics are SO COOL! I heart them.
And the chick pic. :D I heart it, too. Nothing like a peeping, fuzzy chick!
I'm really glad you didn't get run over to get your shots- love the chickens!
I love the road shots, especially the close-up. And I love how you describe the road with such, umm . . . affection.
congrats on your new yellow babies :)! very nice shots.
I love that stretch of road you picked....so raw. Also, the chicks are adorable. Looking forward to next week's challenge too!
Great take on Yellow :D ~ cute chicks and fabulous road. The road doesn't look exactly busy, but I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to stand - or rather I think you were at least kneeling on it to shoot this perspective!
See?? Now how cool is that road shot! I'm so glad you were able to get that !
