Onward

Onward, because tomorrow is a new day (and I really have no other acceptable choice anyway).

Last weekend was fueled by a neglectful stupidity, the high-magnitude type that spirals from bad to worse in a particularly horrifying domino effect. When I looked back and realized that the moment the frazzled cashier cussed her computer out in front of my kids was actually one of the better moments, I had the choice to either sigh in defeat or laugh at the insanity of it all. Except by that point I was far too tired to laugh.

Driving onward, with lessons learned.

Week 1 - Monday

Those lessons will be useful, I suppose, the next time my husband is in The Netherlands and calls at 2am to calmly say that none of his credit cards are working. Because now I'll know that the bank that does the immediate Western Union money transfer doesn't have their lobby open on Saturdays, and they don't do that through the drive-through. I'll know not to attempt to purchase too much Western Union "Go Cash" at Family Dollar or the computer will lock up for an unspecified expanse of time while accusing me of fraud (and I'll even know the correct location of said dollar store - the only place in town that has it). I'll also know they only accept cold hard cash as payment. And I'll be certain that when it can't get any worse, it will. And no, really, you don't want to hear the other half of the story.

Tomorrow is a new day. Can I get an Amen?

Aw... Amen.

That sounds pretty...ummm... rough. Your poor husband. And poor you.

I got a good chuckle out of the retelling, though. Which I'm pretty sure you intended. I also got an even bigger chuckle from the way you tagged this post. Conspiracy. Ha.

Tomorrow is a new day :) And you have pretty chickens.

Can I get a witness? And an amen?
Sorry it was a shitty weekend....sounds like it was tough on you and on him, like it's not tough enough being so far apart.
I hope as the week wears on things start to brighten. I find when the crap rains down it takes a few days to feel better. Hope you're faster than me.
Sending virtual hugs.

Wow, not fun at all! What does your hubs do that he gets to go to the Netherlands? Sounds like his company needs to give YOU a “travel bonu$” for the stressful weekend! Hope your week goes better!

UGH! And AMEN for new days with new beginnings and the ability to look back on the old days and say well at least I learned something from that.
I hope today is better.

Amen AND Amen to that. That's all kinds of crazy, stressful moments right there Jess. What can I say to console? You are cool? You take banging pictures? Hmm, I'll leave it at tomorrow is another day ;)

Yikes. That sounds like one humdinger of a weekend. Hopefully y'all survived unscathed. And the kids having been walking around sounding like Tourette's patients thanks to that happy cashier.

Oh I can feel the crushing agony of "when will this day ever be over??" I've said it over less stressful days.

I love how calm husbands can be about such things.....while we scramble to make it all work with hungry, tired kids wrapped around our legs.

Amen.

Amen! The best part about bad weeks is they're "usually" followed by better ones... hope yours is getting better!

You did NOT just post a low light photo to make me insanely jealous did you???!! Oh my. I'm SO into that look right now but haven't had a chance to try it out. Even bought an e-book from CM and everything. LOVE the pic of your boy. (Sorry to comment here, but the comments were closed on that post).

Sorry you're having a rough time lately - ugh! Are you guys back to health now?

And the b&w's of the calf. Absolutely, utterly (udderly - lol!! just thought of that!!)... INCREDIBLE. The miracle of life! Fantastic!!

What a bummer that hubby is away. I'm not terrific at the single mom thing. At 5:30, i'm DONE. Hubby is in charge, and my re-fueling begins. Thinking of you friend!!! xoxo :-)
