Summer days

This summer, our days are overflowing with...

the sound of five fans moving air throughout our almost-miserably-hot home,

IMG_5269

a Bean who wears nothing but her diaper, all day and night,

a boy catching two tiny frogs, keeping them safe until bedtime when he sets them free, and then doing the same thing again the next day, and the next day, and the next...

IMG_5258

a mom who says "don't slam the door", followed immediately by doors slamming shut,

abandoned shoes and dirty feet,

IMG_5270

a happy gardener foraging for her breakfast (I could easily be vegetarian all summer),

IMG_5264
{okay, the red pepper didn't come from my garden, yet}

baby chicks, ten more due to hatch this weekend,

and a whole lot of squishy squishy mud.

You Capture - "Summer"

Thanks for the comment :) I like the fan picture - such a perfect image for summer! And those are the tiniest frogs I've ever seen. Wow!

Such colorful pics ... well, except for the first one! :) Great DOF, too.

My kiddos like to catch and release frogs/toads, too. The ones they catch aren't as small as yours though. Those must be hard to find since they're so tiny!

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.

That sounds and looks like the most idealistic summer (from the 1950's) ever!

I want to EAT that. The dish at the end, not the frogs. ;)

Great captures!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Your photos are BEAUTIFUL! We're doing a lot of 'nothing but diaper-wearing' these days too!

What beautiful photos! Those vegetables look so delicious. I agree - eating vegetarian is so easy in the summer!

WOW... that sounds like our summer. LOL! Except no dipes (yay) but I've let the boys run around in their lil boy undies on the super hot days. I don't even care in that heat.

The fan shot is my favorite, but the food looks delish!!! Great captures.

I let out a huge gasp with that fan...super cool and vintage looking. Then the squished frogs made me laugh. Nice shot on that too...I'm sure it wasn't easy to capture.

And one more summer fun kiddo thing...scrubby those dirty little feet each night after a long day without shoes! I guess that goes for mommy's too! Ha!

I replied to Berg, but in case anyone else is wondering... the photos on this post were all shot in RAW with the Canon 50mm f/1.8

Berg said...

That is the exact lens I use 99% of the time, but I'm just learning about shooting in RAW and need to download a converter so I can edit my RAW photos in Photoshop.

You definitely captured summer! Your colors are great - especially the veges and I love the barefoot one. And the fan is creative and artistic! Actually they're all REALLY good!
