An after-church cucumber

Sometimes the life of our Bean is just plain old rough. Especially when she has tried so very hard (and failed) to sit quietly through church without beating her older brothers up. It's hard not to. I totally understand.

It's way past nap time.

It's one of those Sundays when everyone loiters around outside after the service. Small talk about the weather, the crops, the gardens. My boys are crawling through the dirt catching small slimy creatures.

The Bean is hungry.

But today is special. She won't starve. Someone brought cucumbers to church.

Yes, this will do. It will do nicely.

Linking up with Summer's Simple Things with my new friend Kim, The Inadvertent Farmer. Go check her site out. Why? The woman is hilarious. And, she has a camel. For real.

Now I want a camel.

I'm also using this post for my You Capture - "Everyday things". Even though it isn't every day the little Bean munches on a cucumber in the car, this is exactly the type of thing that makes up my every day with these kiddos. The kind of wacky every day thing I don't ever want to forget.

Goodness, for that much happiness, you should always have a spare cucumber in your car! She's too cute!

The Bean is funny! And I think you should get a llama or an alpaca before tackling a camel. Alpacas are where it's at! Hey, wait a minute... that sounds like a GREAT blog title. Maybe you need more than one alpaca so you have lots of material when you start your new ALPACAS ARE WHERE IT'S AT blog. :-)

Great pictures! I can honestly say that I have never seen a cucumber eaten that way! :) Very cute.

Seriously, I really think The Bean and my little Sunny would hit it off now! They'd probably devour every cucumber/zucchini looking plant in the neighborhood, and wreak havoc on their older siblings, but I think they'd really enjoy each other! :) Cute, cute! And such wonderful "everyday things".

I've never seen anyone eat a cucumber like that but if it makes her happy, so be it.

Thanks Jess! I got a Fujifilm XP. I love it! Pretty good for a $159 camera. I didn't want to recreate the wheel, just take fun photos of my kids in the pool. I did research and this is one of the cheapest ones on the market but it does everything I need. It really is fun!
