SPRING
When our little bean decided it was time to be born, we found this between us and the hospital.

And it wasn't like we weren't already concerned about making it in time, with our previous child having been born in the car, or anything like that.
There is just nothing like walking a makeshift bridge across a raging, noisy torrent of icy cold water, and theft of a neighbor's vehicle to slow your contractions down. Perhaps it was just what I needed?

There was water everywhere.

SUMMER
Some of us thought about turning our basements into swimming pools, but others just thought all this water was tons of fun.

My basil grew like it has never grown before.

We built a super cool swingset.

Mmmmmm... sweet, juicy plums!

FALL

Oh, be still my heart, our hens began to lay perfect brown eggs!
This lovely lady was considering whether my camera might possibly be edible.

WINTER

Other than the birth of our daughter (and the poultry chaos) you might call our year boring. But it wasn't boring at all, it was free of things like television or busy schedules. Our year was quiet and full of blessings, and our year was simple and good!

Oh wow! That is one hell of a birth story! Your photos are lovely.
Yikes! That first shot is a scary picture, but the baby is so sweet. Glad you made it over the bridge. The plum shot is amazing!
I love baby with the cap and ears - so cute

Boring years are so quiescent! Your shots are amazing. I'm especially fond of the chicken, egg, cat dozing, and the pics of the kiddos. Great pictures!
Wow. I love your pictures. And I love your year! I am glad it was so wonderful. Your basil looks amazing. And your sweet children look precious! How fun! : ) I hope you have another (simple) and wondrous new year!
boring year or not...you have some beautiful pictures from your year. love them! i hope you and your family have a great 2010!
Look at all your comments, Jess! Isn't it fun to blog! I do love your picturs...and your stories can't be beat! I also had pretty fast deliveries...not quite as fast as yours, but faster than normal. From water breaking to delivery, it was less than 8 hours for Sammy and from first contraction to delivery it was about 3 hours for Caleb. I'm hoping this 3rd one will just fall right out! : )
