Tucked in

When the situation is so desperate that I resort to working in the garden by tractor light for nearly two hours, tucking the most delicate of my precious things in for the night with blankets...

but I'm tripping over pumpkins and squash so my husband grabs a really long extension cord to give me even more light...

so I can cut these beautiful things loose and toss them over to him while the fog rolls in...

of course it's a sign that the next morning we will discover that the forecast was wrong, and there is not a bit of frost to be found anywhere.

Great night time shots! Thank GOODNESS we haven't had frost yet, even though we live in a bit of a hollow. The tomatoes, which are still green and hard, are living on borrowed time, I think.
BTW, my hubby would like to borrow your hubby's tractor for, like, forever.

I love the shot of the pumpkins...they are the only thing I like about fall. Makes me excited to start preparing for our annual Halloween party.

Love the photos! Especially the one of the pumpkins - makes me itch to go harvest mine...along with the rest of my potatoes and squash. But the rain won't stop! Fall's coming too quickly!

Love the way you used 'signs' this week! I tried to be creative like that... didn't work out for me. I love your images as always, too!

Love that first shot. So magical somehow :) Pumpkins and gourds are one of my favorite parts of fall!

Love it! Weather forecasters are wrong so often I wonder that they still have jobs. Ah well, you have some beautiful pumpkins!

YAY for no frost! I'm totally not ready for fall. Well, fall maybe...but it's kind of like impending doom with winter approaching - bleh!

Darn weather man! Murphy's law, right? Have I mentioned how much I admire your dedication to growing things? And taking great photos of all of it!

Beautiful photos as usual. Sorry you did all that work when the forecast was wrong but I'm sure you know it was better to be safe than sorry. Love the colors in your photos!

I'm not sure I'm ready for the 'signs' of winter!! Frost warnings already?? Eek!

My hubby just brought in all our pumpkins, too. :) Do you freeze/can or sell yours?

Lovely pictures! Even if it was a lot of work, I'm glad you didn't get the frost (way too early for that).
