Both of which I had to do twice this week.
Was it only yesterday I swore I would never go grocery shopping with all three of my offspring ever again? Ever. For the rest of my days.
I was so distraught I even forgot to use my coupon. It was that bad.
Honestly, the kids aren't normally so bad... two is okay. Three is a gamble. I'm sure it's due to some phenomenon involving psychology, calculus, time of day, and the pull of the moon's gravity on the earth. I don't know. I won't ask my husband because he would sit down with some duct tape, graph paper and a paper clip and figure it out.
And yet, I find myself about to lose my mind again. I find myself having grabbed the cart with the bad wheel that wobbles around and around, praying we find what we need and can get the heck out of here before disaster strikes.
Squeak, squeak, squeak...
Things seem a little off. Perhaps it wasn't a level headed idea, but we gotta get this job done.
Sorry Bean, but the big kid needs shoes.
How is it possible that a kindergartner has need for two pairs of shoes? At school. Need as in "required". Gah.
Hey Wal-Mart! Guess what? I went to K-Mart, so there!
Shoe shopping is serious business, this can't be rushed. But we're already feeling dizzy.
The monkeys want to be free!
Suddenly he realizes that if he pulls up on the front panel of the cart, his cage door starts to open! It lifts the Bean forward up into the air! She squeals and hangs on for dear life... but it's a bad angle for him, and she's too heavy to go all the way over.
He drops the partly open cage door.
It falls back into place.
The Bean plops down in her seat.
Her fingers?
Pinched.
Frogs in the living room is nothing compared to this.

Not laughing... I swear! Or maybe I am a little. I have to say, I was thrilled when my oldest was old enough to stay home with the younger ones so I could shop in peace. But then I'd go to the store and wander around like a lunatic thinking that I'd forgotten something or was missing something only to realize that that something was my kids!
I laughed so hard when i read this, for last week, I took my growing belly, and my two children to Wal-mart..Which, i despise as much as you. It was a night-mare.
One I will never again relive. (on purpose)It's as if that place is another planet and when you land on it, your sucked into it's crazy ways, I heard myself getting frantic, mad and starting to sound like the rest of the "wal-mart" mom's and that is not a good thing. (i think you know what I mean) So, thankfully our wal-mart has a mcdonalds in it, and we got fries on the way to redeem the chaos I put my children through to just go pick up my supposedly cheaper pharmacy items, which mind you, were not cheap at all.( and I had to wait extra long for because, hey it's Walmart! Poor bean. I hope her fingers recover soon. :)
I hate to tell you this, but it doesn't get that much better as the kids get older. Sorry... Our girls are 10 and 12 and I still don't want to go shopping with both of them. There is always a (power) struggle of some kind going on. I do the grocery shopping by myself and if the girls need clothes, I take one at a time. Cuts down on the aggravation and gives us one on one time. Win-win in my book...
I think it's like child birth...bringing our three children shopping. Even though we know how painful it can be, somehow, someway, we still consider and often do it all over again ;)
I TOTALLY relate!! Except I have no little girls :)
2 pairs required? Weird...I don't know the joys of taking 3 kids to the store. Looks like you made the most of it.
Wow. Those photos made me dizzy. I can only imagine.... I thought one was bad. You'd think that any extra life forms would simply be entertainment and distraction for the one so that you can get stuff done. Obviously I have no idea what it's like to parent more than one. Thanks for the eye-opener. ;)
Awww.. poor baby. Hope her fingers are okay.
I hate shopping. ;) Been there, done that with three. Now I have *five*. O.o
I feel the same way - every time I leave my house I say I will never leave again! And, I don't even take any kids with me :-) I feel for you. You'll have to start shopping during school hours!
I just had my second child and am dreading these days but also laughing because its just one of those things that are bound to happen. I cant even begin to think about 3 kids and me alone taking them all somewhere! Children call chaos but aren't they the cutest chaos critters!
ROFL...not that I would laugh at such an outing...snort.
I am sorry about the finger thing, put a princess band-aid on it and it will be all good!
BTW...shopping sucks.
