Pudding, etc.

Do you ever make chocolate pudding for the kids, and then eat every last drop of it (with a spatula) before they ever knew it existed?

Do you ever step out of the shower with a noticeable scratch on your forehead because there was a stiff twig in your shampoo?

Do you ever have a Shakespeare-type tragedy unfold at bedtime? The little brother begins to lift the toilet lid so he can pee, even though you told him to wait until his older brother used it for a step-stool to get up to the counter, so that he could brush his teeth. The big brother reacts in brotherly love by jumping onto it anyway, which smashes the little brother's fingers between the toilet seat and the porcelain bowl. The big kid completes his awkward ballet move by tripping over his little sister, knocking her down while she generally minds her own business.

But it's not over yet.

When told to go into the other room to discuss what just happened, he flops onto the couch in such a manner that he inadvertently kicks you in the nose. Hard.

Do you ever find that the dog has relocated her food bowl, along with a beheaded rat, to the place your front step would be, if you had one?

Have you ever had a day like that?

No?

Really.

Huh.

Yeah, me neither.

well, the pudding part has definitely happened here. as for the rest...you lead a far more interesting life than i do.

i think a day like that calls for another batch of pudding "for the kids."

LOL, the pudding yes. I love Lush but thankfully, have never found a twig. Luckily no kids or dogs here. :-) The rest certainly does sound like a comedy of errors!

I am a faithful reader of your blog, but sadly I never comment. Your posts are so great and inspiring. This one made me laugh until I cried. I'm sorry to laugh at your pain and stress...but I've been there. Hehe. Thanks for another great post.:)

Never, ever thought of trying solid shampoo. In one link, you opened a whole world to me.

I identify with with pudding---along with all sorts of other sweets that disappear before the kiddos get them.

May you enjoy the peace that comes with bedtime.

Oh, I love it! I just love it! I never have those days. I never have the days that you drag all your children out to the store because you need a pie plate (to bake a pie for Thanksgiving)and struggle to let them look at toys when all you want to do is go home and put them to bed....EARLY. And as they ask for one more thing, you say to them in a low growly voice, " no, because mama is gonna snAP!" And then, you frown at the cashier (not that it's her fault, mind you) and you try to leave the store by giving everyone a penny to drop it in the red kettle....oh, this could go on.
I don't EVER feel like you!

Shampoo bar?? O.O I'm so looking into those. Quick peek and I found a gluten-free one! :D

Mmmm... pudding. ;)

Bedtime tragedy.. yep. Did it give you a nose bleed? ;)

Thankfully, I have not yet had to deal with a beheaded rat. ;)

UMMM...Nope NEVER EVER had a day like that. ;) I think I would have probably went for the front door after the kid kicked me in the nose and remembered all to late that the front step didn't exist, cuz that's just the way I roll.

Hang in there!

No, I haven't done the pudding thing, but it is a good idea. Think I might give it a try. I have done the flying through the air thing when missing the step. Those kids sound dangerous. Take care.

Not quite! Goodness what an escapade. Hope you are able to blend mundane days with the craziness and end up with a perfect mix. ;)

oooh I followed that link and think I need an hour to explore Lush, but I don't have an hour much less a minute since my day was filled with SIMILAR activities as you allude to in your post. deep breath for us both!

Holy cow... I feel like you're my long lost sister.

Random things in random places, and random injuries for silly reasons... totally ME.

It must be in our DNA :)
