Quiet

Here I sit eating a bean and rice burrito for breakfast, and contemplating images that represent the word quiet. Bean and rice burritos are quiet, but you know those bean and rice burritos have a reputation, and for good reason.

Hmmm... my day is not likely to be quiet for long.

We've had a few warmish (above freezing) days, and some rain. Our snow is changing, getting slushy, which is technically called "ripening". The melt is coming, water will begin running. We wait to see just how much water we'll be dealing with this year, and just how much it will affect us.

But before all flooding chaos begins, it is quiet.

Last Saturday I got outside and the calm, quiet of pre-Spring was hanging heavy in the air.

And the color of the day, apparently, is rusty orange. I rather like it.

I LOVE your pics today, especially the first fencepost. And the rust? Awesome! The cat on the post is cool, too. I just have one suggestion. You might think about applying black frames before posting. You can do it easily in PS or PS Elements. You can also use the tools on this web site: http://bighugelabs.com/. Just a thought. My blog has a white background, too, and I think the pix just look way better with frames.

Great shots! I keep thinking it's too dreary and cold for nice outdoor shots, but these pictures have proved me wrong.

Orange is my favorite color so I love your pictures this week! What gave the fence that orange color?

Whenever I think of rusty orange I remember Grandma Vi in her burnt orange bomb of a car saying, "You want brights? I'll show you brights!" and flipping on the high beams. Marshall is one attractive feline. Sam took one look at him and said, "ooooooh"
